Tagg App

For my final project at General Assembly’s UX course I chose to create a mobile app to help gay men find trendy spots in their own city as well when as when they travel. I used surveymonkey.com to conduct inteviews and quickly learned that the major areas of Interest were bars and clubs, contrary to my belief the majority of people I interviewed were not Interested In museums and outdoor activities.

My biggest and most interesting pivot came as I started the usabilty testings and was often asked why I was targeting only gay men? So I started asking that question myself, went back to the drawing board and shifted the course of my project by adding another persona and Interviewing a different range of people. One of my main findings after I broadened the audience was that the number of people Interested in restautarlts shifted from 30% to 50%.

“I want current – and quick – city nightlife tips.”

As I kept observing how people behaved towards outing activities. one day as I walked the streets of San Fransisco after dinner I notlced how people getting out of establishments most of the times used less than three words to oomment on a beer they had tried and enjoyed at a bar or a dish they had just experienced and it wasn’t exactly what they were expecting.

That’s how I came up with the two word review system enoouraging more people to write; therefore increasing user content generation and making the reviews short and sweet. Anyone can and has time to do it.
